Activating and using your Microsoft® Money Online Backup Service account is easy.

 

Step 1: Installing and Registering

 

Download Microsoft® Money Online Backup Service by clicking Install in the upper right. While you are completing the registration we will install the Online Backup program application to your system. You will see a new icon on your desktop called the Backup Neighborhood and a new addition to your taskbar tray. These items already know where your Money files are located on your hard drive and will select them for backup.

Step 2: Scheduling your backup

Once the application is installed you will want to schedule when your backups will occur. By right-clicking on the Backup Neighborhood, you can access the scheduling menu. Select the days and times that work best for you.

Step 3: Knowing your Money file is protected automatically

 

Microsoft® Money Online Backup Service compresses and encrypts your money files at the scheduled times you've selected and automatically connects to the Internet using your network or dial-up connection. After every backup you will get message confirming you that your file is backed up and protected.

 

Step 4: Restoring your files

 

Restoring your files is just as easy. Simply open the Backup Neighborhood and right-click the file you wish to restore. Follow the dialog boxes to select which folder you want to restore the file.
