What about the security of the service?

@Backup encrypts your data using a 56-bit DES algorithm. During installation of the program you'll choose a pass phrase that is used in the encryption. The only way to decrypt your data is with this pass phrase. Encryption of the files occurs on your PC before any data leaves your system. So all information (your computer files and payment information) transmitted is unreadable to anyone else. @Backup uses the same type of encryption as major banks and the U.S. Government.

What happens to my data after it's transmitted to @Backup?

We store multiple redundant copies of all your encrypted files at our secure facility.
